It's a wonderful time to be alive if you're a pet owner. Dogs are being welcomed into more and more public spaces every day. But that also means that it's never been more important to make sure that our canine friends are equipped to make the right decisions when facing new challenges. Is yours ready? Author note: This is part one in a five-part series chronicling our journey to (hopefully) parent a well-behaved canine.
We recently made the decision to enroll Pike in one-on-one obedience training. "Didn't you already do training with that dog?" We sure have. We took him through some basic puppy obedience classes and then enrolled him in an intensive two-week training boot camp. We're considering this his master's degree program.

Are you a pet owner? Is your house filled with funky odors that you just can't get rid of? Then you need to run out and get yourself this cleaning tool. Immediately. Seriously. Go. Right now. I'll wait here until you get back. I love my house. It's nothing fancy—it's an old brick home with lots of charm—but it brings me so much joy. I'll admit, though, that I have a dark, dirty secret: it stinks. Literally. Yeah [nods in a sad manner]. Like feet. Cute, dirty, stinky dog feet. GROSS! And nothing I've tried has done much to make it go away. Until I purchased this one amazing product.
Picture it: it's a lovely weekend afternoon and you're at the park, tossing the ball to your favorite four-legged pal. He or she returns to you and you notice blood. A lot of blood. Aside from panicking, what do you do next? Let's discuss. Last weekend, we had a scare with Pike. I opened up his crate to take him outside like I always do, but what happened next was far from routine. He was able to get up and walk out of his crate, but he couldn't move after that. He stood, rooted in that spot, just looking at me with his beautiful golden eyes.
I responded in the way any normal pet owner would: I had a meltdown and started to hyperventilate. |
