Last week marked the one-year anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. As dire as the situation is for humans, the conditions for pets is just as bad—if not worse—because they're often left behind as their owners are forced to flee their homes, leaving their furry friends behind to fend for themselves. Read on to see how you can help.
I happened to catch a news segment featuring the amazing work of the non-profit group, K9 Global Rescue. This group, comprised of former combat veterans from a variety of countries, works with volunteers to rescue people and animals across the globe.
Over the past 11 months, they have made more than 13 humanitarian trips to Ukraine to extract people and pets from both liberated areas as well as those under constant Russian shelling.

Ask any small dog owner what their worst fear is and almost all will say it's being attacked while out on a walk. I know it was mine. And, unfortunately, it happened. I'd imagined it hundreds of times, running the scenario though my head, over and over so that I could formulate my response. But life has a funny way of throwing you curveballs and making even the best plans completely irrelevant.
Despite the best, most-detailed plans, you will absolutely face many challenges when you start your own business. I'm pretty sure that's what Cy Curnin was referring to when he sang, 'one thing leads to another.' Just remember to keep your head down, focus on the bigger picture, and forge ahead. Because, just like Gloria Gaynor, you will survive. Unless you've been living off the grid for the last 37 years, you're almost certainly familiar with the "If You Give..." children's book series by Laura Numeroff.
